A handful of winemakers in Oregon are experimenting with growing weed at their vineyards with the hope of increasing their appeal among young consumers. Katherine Bryan (right), who owns Deer Creek Vineyards, is launching a marijuana business next door. She said she can get 00 a ton for her pinot gris grapes and can potentially make the same amount per pound of cannabis. Bill and Barbara Steele (top left) have been running a similar business saying younger generations are looking for an experience of ‘wine and weed’. The Steeles started with seeds in plastic cups (bottom left) under incubators in their laundry room but leased their land to grow 30 medical marijuana plants last year.
